A week after the first round of the NFL draft was held "virtually," the Canadian Football League held its draft.

The No. 1 overall selection in the 2020 CFL draft was East Carolina linebacker Jordan Williams, who was picked by the BC Lions. The top pick was originally held by the Ottawa Redblacks, who dealt the pick the Calgary Stampeders. On draft day, the BC Lions moved up to acquire Williams, who played for the ECU Pirates from 2014-17.

The No. 5 overall selection was acquired by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats when the Montreal Alouettes traded for Johnny Manziel, the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner and first-round pick by the Cleveland Browns in the 2014 NFL draft. Manziel played just one season in the CFL.
