Burnley ace Dwight McNeil has been advised to reject transfer interest from Manchester United and several other top clubs in the upcoming summer transfer window.
The advice for him to stay at Turf Moor, where he has excelled under boss Sean Dyche who has guided the Clarets to 10th place, has come from none other than McNeil's father.
The 20-year-old has already accumulated 58 first-team appearances for Burnley, scoring five goals and producing 10 assists with his efforts attracting admiring glances from afar.
Other Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Leicester and Crystal Palace have now taken notice and are all monitoring McNeil's progress.
Having spent time in United’s youth system before being freed to join the academy ranks at Burnley, his potential was surprisingly allowed to slip through the Red Devils’ net.
A dream return to Old Trafford has been mooted, but rather than encourage his son to make the move, McNeil senior wants his son to continue his footballing education at Burnley for the time being.
