What becomes of Dwight Freeney's visit with the Chargers, it is too early to tell. But it will span a second day. Freeney landed in San Diego on Wednesday and took a physical for the team. He will stay overnight as his visit carries over into Thursday. The former Colts defensive end is arguably the top pass rusher on the market, and for the Chargers, he fills a sudden need. They likely lost Melvin Ingram for the season Tuesday when the outside linebacker tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee during practice. He is tentatively expected to undergo surgery next week. Freeney spent the first 10 years of his career as a Colts defensive end. He switched to outside linebacker last year when Indianapolis moved from a 4-3 to 3-4 defensive scheme.
