Injury woes and the Spurs’ first three-game losing streak notwithstanding, it’s been a memorable week for Tim Duncan from a historical standpoint. Having moved into seventh on the career blocked shot list and 20th on the career scoring list, Duncan climbed up another chart on Wednesday with the 786th double-double of his career, moving him past Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell for sixth place. With retirement so close, catching Kareem Abdul-Jabbar will be next to impossible. But Duncan has an outside chance of surpassing Malone for fifth, particularly if he plays through his option next season.
