The men's basketball team of the Duke Blue Devils has made some unfortunate history.

As noted by an ESPN piece, Duke has fallen out of the Associated Press men's basketball top 25 for the first time since Feb. 8, 2016. The unbeaten Gonzaga Bulldogs remain No. 1, while the 12-0 Baylor Bears are second in the poll.

Duke's fall follows last Tuesday's 74-67 loss to the Virginia Tech Hokies that dropped the Blue Devils to 5-3 overall. Before that result, Duke had won three straight after beginning the season 2-2.
