Claude Puel is receiving no reassurances about his Southampton future ahead of an end-of-season review next week after which a final decision will be made about the first-team manager. Southampton chairman Ralph Krueger has told The Telegraph that executive director Les Reed will lead an analysis of the campaign once the final two games – against Manchester United tonight and Stoke City on Sunday – have been completed. Although Southampton reached the League Cup final and could still finish eighth, many supporters are frustrated with the style of football and the situation appears increasingly ominous. “We have two huge games ahead of us,” said Krueger. “I think all of that should be properly debriefed, analysed next week and then we need to move with whatever is best for the club at that point. We want everybody to be really focussed on finishing strong.”
