Utah’s Donovan Mitchell isn’t ready to stop now. Mitchell, 21, would be the 13th overall pick in the most recent NBA draft. He’s averaging 19.7 points per game with an effective field goal rating of 52.2 percent. But he’s also shooting 35.7 percent from three-point range (on 6.6 attempts per game). And on Friday night, he and the Jazz would absolutely smoke the Phoenix Suns, 129-97. But it’s Mitchell that, once again, would stand out from the rest of the crowd. On the night, he would ultimately finish with 40 points on 14-of-19 shooting. Not to mention, a career-high seven three-point makes (on nine attempts). Despite this being his rookie season, Friday night marks Mitchell’s sixth game with at least 30 points. Unfortunately, his performances haven’t been enough to lead the Jazz out of mediocrity.
