The Miami Dolphins announced Wednesday that they’ve placed OL Jermon Bushrod and TE Julius Thomas on injured reserve and activated OT Eric Smith from injured reserve. The Dolphins also promoted TE Thomas Duarte to their active roster. Thomas, 29, is a former fourth-round pick by the Broncos in the 2011 NFL Draft. He is in the third year of his five-year, $46 million contract that included $24 million guaranteed and stands to make a base salary of $6.5 million for the 2018 season. The Jaguars elected to trade Thomas to the Dolphins in return for a 2017 seventh-round pick.
