Los Angeles Dodgers starting shortstop Gavin Lux was carted off the field in the sixth inning of Monday’s Spring Training game against the Padres. Here’s what you need to know:
Lux suffered an apparent right leg injury while sliding into third base. He had been trying to stay out of the way of a throw and lost his balance as he went into the bag.
The 25-year-old stayed down on the ground for several moments before being carted off the field. He hit .276 with six home runs and 42 RBIs last season.
Miguel Rojas is expected to start at SS if Lux misses time. The Dodgers traded for Rojas in January after eight seasons in Miami.
