The Max Scherzer market is heating up with the July 30 trade deadline approaching.

The Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, Boston Red Sox, Tampa Bay Rays, Toronto Blue Jays, Houston Astros, and New York Mets are interested in trading for the Washington Nationals ace, sources told Jayson Stark of The Athletic.

The New York Yankees also reportedly looked into acquiring the right-hander but were told that he probably wouldn't approve a deal to the Bronx.

Meanwhile, the chances of the Mets landing the three-time Cy Young winner are highly unlikely because the Nationals are a division rival, a source told Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
