Seattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is off to a hot start this season, and teammate DK Metcalf isn't surprised by his quarterback's performance.

"He's getting the credit he deserves," Metcalf said after Smith was named NFC offensive player of the week in Week 4 for his 320-yard, two-touchdown performance against the Detroit Lions.

Metcalf added: "Last year, when Russ (Wilson) went down, he had a chance to step in, and I knew he was going to do great. From the moment he got his chance, he just needed an opportunity. Now he's just showing everybody what we already knew."

Smith is fifth in QBR out of all quarterbacks and only has two interceptions through four games, which has helped the Seahawks' offense get off to a more efficient start than widely expected. They are 10th in yards per game and 11th in points.
