The New York Giants have made two picks in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. With the No. 6 overall pick, the franchise chose Duke quarterback Daniel Jones. Next, they decided to go out and draft Clemson defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence.

Following the selection of Lawrence, the former Clemson star opened up about the quarterback that the team is looking at to be the heir to Eli Manning under center. In a quote shared by Paul Schwartz of the New York Post, Lawrence shared that he thinks Jones is “really special.”

Jones rose up draft boards quickly throughout the draft process. There is no denying the potential that he has, but there are some that thought the Giants reached to draft him at No. 6. New York also could have had Dwayne Haskins, who many believe is the better option at quarterback.
