Devils forward Miles Wood will have a hearing with NHL Player Safety on Sunday for boarding and charging Tampa Bay Lightning center Vladislav Namestnikov during Saturday's 4-3 Devils win at Amalie Arena. Wood hit Namestnikov from behind at the 4:54 mark of the second period, sending the front of his body and head directly into the boards. Referees assessed a two-minute minor boarding penalty on Wood for the hit. He also received a two-minute roughing minor for throwing punches with Lightning defenseman Andrej Sustr after this hit. After the game, Wood said Namestnikov turned his body to chip the puck up ice while Wood was going in for the hit, and Wood didn't let up.
