Blake Griffin offered some clarity on the sore left knee that’s likely ruined any chance of a competitive first-round series against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Detroit Pistons star wants to play, but it’s not his call.

“If it was pain, I would easily play with pain,” Griffin said following the Pistons’ 121-86 loss at Fiserv Forum.

“If it was just my decision, I would have played.”

Griffin watched the embarrassing display — the second-worst playoff loss in Pistons playoff history — from the Pistons bench in a suit.

A Yahoo! Sports report early Monday morning said that Griffin is “unlikely” to be available during this series, which confirms the vibe when speaking with Pistons insiders, who remain hopeful he will return at some point.

He is needed.
