Once he spotted it, though, Victor Martinez didn't have much trouble handling the breaking ball that hung over the plate Friday night at Comerica Park. He calmly yanked it down the leftfield line to drive in the winning run as the Tigers beat the Baltimore Orioles, 4-3. "There is a real calmness about him," manager Jim Leyland said of Martinez. "Some guys just know how to slow things down."
