The Yankees' plan with Derek Jeter is believed to be to give him one extra day to rest and activate him from the disabled list Sunday. That's the hope anyway. Jeter will play in a simulated game Saturday the day he was eligible to come off the disabled list and if all goes well Sunday will be the day. Jeter told writers before Friday's game that he felt well enough to play. A doctor was expected to examine him early this evening but no announcement was forthcoming immediately after he was checked out.
