The college basketball coaching carousel continued to turn Monday when DePaul fired head coach Dave Leitao after five last-place finishes in the Big East Conference.
Leitao, 60, was 127-147 in his second stint at the Chicago school, including a 51-103 mark in the Big East. For his career, Leitao is 212-242 in two stops at DePaul plus stints at Virginia and Northeastern.
DePaul was the No. 11 seed in the Big East Tournament last week at Madison Square Garden and upset No. 6 Providence before losing to No. 3 UConn, 94-60, in the quarterfinals. They finished 5-14.
