Dennis Schroder’s free agency gambit now appears to have failed. The Los Angeles Lakers guard was famously offered an $84 million extension to stay in LA, which he promptly turned down to bet big on himself.
Now it looks like Schroder has a losing hand, with the casino ready to take away most of his winnings. All offseason long, many NBA experts, including respected names like ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, pegged the Lakers as somewhat delusional for dreaming bigger than Dennis Schroder.
But with Russell Westbrook now with the Purple & Gold, it seems that the German point guard has become the biggest loser in all this.
