Crisis averted for the Raptors. Guards Jose Calderon and John Lucas III, both of whom hobbled out of Sunday's intrasquad scrimmage at Casino Rama, went through a full two-hour workout on Monday and seem ready to go for Wednesday's regular season opener against the Indiana Pacers at the Air Canada Centre. "Everybody is ready to go," coach Dwane Casey said. DeMar DeRozan, who left Sunday's scrimmage after being poked in the eye, also practised and will be ready. It's becoming increasingly clear, though, that DeRozan won't start the season with a lucrative contract extension. While his agents and the Raptors have had talks — and he remains part of the team's long-term plans — the Oct. 31 deadline for a new deal is likely to come and go. DeRozan did profess his desire to remain a Raptor once he becomes a restricted free agent next summer.
