Friday, Dec. 1 is the deadline for teams to offer contracts for 2018 to their arbitration-eligible and pre-arbitration players. Any player who is not tendered a contract will become a free agent. Jeurys Familia, Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom, Wilmer Flores, Travis d'Arnaud, Zack Wheeler, Noah Syndergaard, and Hansel Robles are all eligible for arbitration. The Mets are expected to tender contracts to all of the above players, with the only uncertainty surrounding Harvey. However, GM Sandy Alderson has said multiple times that he expects Harvey to be retained for 2018. "At this moment, I favor the idea of him being back," Alderson said in late-September, adding that Harvey was making progress despite the results.
