In the interests of competition, coach David Culley has stopped short of disclosing who the Texans’ starting quarterback will be, but it’s not too difficult to figure out when you listen to him discussing Tyrod Taylor.

Taylor, 31 and entering his 11th season, was the starter at Buffalo in 2017 when Culley was the Bills’ quarterback coach. They went to the playoffs together.

Taylor went into the 2020 season as the Chargers’ starter with Pep Hamilton as his position coach. Hamilton is the Texans’ new passing game coordinator/quarterback coach.
