The Philadelphia 76ers are re-signing veteran shooting guard Danny Green to a two-year, $20 million deal, as first reported by Harrison San, who co-hosts the Inside the Green Room podcast with Green himself. The 76ers waived the partially guaranteed contract of George Hill on Monday seemingly to create more flexibility to make moves. They now appear to have used that flexibility to bring back Green.
That essentially means, barring a trade, that they will run back last year's team. All five starters have returned, as have key reserves Tyrese Maxey, Matisse Thybulle, Furkan Korkmaz and Shake Milton. Georges Niang was signed to give the bench another shooter, and Andre Drummond will replace Dwight Howard at backup center, but otherwise, thus far, it has been business as usual in Philadelphia.
