The Ducks responded quickly to the emerging goal scoring of free-agent addition Daniel Winnik, inserting him Saturday into the top line with stars Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Coach Bruce Boudreau's move to jumble the lines has been mostly by feel, and he said at practice Monday that he was unsure how the three lines will be slotted Tuesday night when the Ducks (3-1-0) play at San Jose (5-0-0). "Once you get to know me, you'll see my lines change a lot," Boudreau said. "I'll usually keep two of them together, but the third guy can change if I feel someone is going or not going." Winnik scored his team-best fifth goal Saturday when he replaced Kyle Palmieri, who has one goal and one assist.
