Former Mets pitching coach Dan Warthen -- now an assistant pitching coach for the Rangers -- has told "at least two teams" that it would be smart to take a gamble on Matt Harvey, reports Kristie Ackert of the NY Daily News. A trade that would send Harvey to the Rangers for INF/OF Jurickson Profar "has been discussed," Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reported on Monday. Heyman reports the Rangers might not want to do a one-for-one trade for Harvey, while Mike Puma of the NY Post notes the Mets would want more from the Rangers than just Profar. The Mets are reportedly open to the idea of dealing Harvey for a reliever, which you can read more about here. Heyman's report was the first one that has had Harvey being discussed for a position player. Profar, who turns 25 years old in February, was the top ranked prospect in baseball five years ago -- when he played primarily shortstop.
