The notion that Ohio State’s Urban Meyer may not be long for coaching, put forth by Clemson coach Dabo Swinney, was a factor in Jackson Carman’s decision to play for the Tigers next season, the five-star offensive tackle said Wednesday. While many college football observers were expecting Carman, who is from Fairfield, Ohio, to stay in his home state and play for the Buckeyes, he said Swinney suggesting Meyer was “on the back end of his career” was among the reasons he’s heading south.
