Four Virginia Tech football players have had surgery since the end of spring ball, including cornerback Brandon Facyson, head athletic trainer Mike Goforth said Saturday. Facyson, who sat out the spring with a stress reaction in his leg, had a bone graft procedure to aid the healing process. Goforth said it doesn't change his timetable for return and that Facyson should be a full go by the second summer session or earlier. Facyson was ruled out for the entire spring late in March with a left tibia stress reaction. He wore a boot for what Virginia Tech termed "precautionary reasons" and was expected to return for summer workouts. As a true freshman, Facyson finished as a third-team All-ACC pick and freshman All-American after making 27 tackles, five interceptions and eight pass breakups. He is expected to start this season. Donovan Riley and Der'Woun Greene took first-team reps in his place at the opposite corner spot of Kendall Fuller.
