Curtis Granderson was at Yankee Stadium today, making his return as he rehabs from a fractured fifth metacarpal on his left hand. The appearance was not without significance. Thursday, Granderson had the pin in his hand taken out. "Another step closer," he said. His next one will be to see if he can grab a bat. If he can then he will be able to start a multi-step process to being able to swing. For now, he is still having difficulty unfurling his left pinky finger. But Granderson will be no less aggressive when he returns. He had lunch with general manager Brian Cashman today and told him in no uncertain terms, "I'll be ready to dig in." "It's part of it," Granderson said in the clubhouse. "I've been hit. I'm sure I'll get hit again."
