MLB has reduced Cubs reliever Ryan Tepera’s suspension from three games to two, the team announced Sunday. Tepera will begin serving the suspension Sunday against the Brewers.
Coincidentally, Tepera’s offense also came against the Brewers a couple weeks ago. Tepera threw behind Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff, an inning after Woodruff hit Cubs catcher Willson Contreras on the hands. It was the third time the Brewers had hit Contreras this year, including once in the helmet.
MLB determined Tepera had intentionally thrown at Woodruff and originally issued him a three-game suspension and undisclosed fine. Tepera appealed the suspension.
