Chicago Cubs closer Brandon Morrow is on the mend after suffering back spasms early Monday morning that flared up while taking off his pants.
The injury occurred as Morrow undressed at home upon the Cubs’ return from St. Louis following a series with the Cardinals.
“Just undressing at my house,” Morrow told reporters on Tuesday, via ESPN. “Like 3 a.m., in the closet, got my right leg off. Left one just felt like a spasm in my back.
“It’s frustrating any time you can’t get out there, especially when you can’t go because of something stupid like taking your pants off.”
Morrow was unavailable for Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Los Angeles Dodgers and deemed himself day-to-day at this point.
