The Chicago Cubs formally announced on Friday that the club has claimed left-handed pitcher Randy Rosario off waivers from the Minnesota Twins. The southpaw signed with the Twins as an amateur free agent as a teenager back in 2010. After working out the kinks in the Dominican Southern, Midwest, Appalachian and Gulf Coast leagues to start, Rosario hit a snag in 2014 when he underwent Tommy John Surgery after making just three starts on the year. Formerly a starter, Rosario converted to full-time reliever this past season. Over 34 appearances in the minors, the left-hander finished with a 3.84 ERA and 1.344 WHIP while punching out 48 opposing batters opposed to 23 walks.
