The Arizona Coyotes hired former Toronto Maple Leafs general manager John Ferguson to serve as assistant GM, the team announced Wednesday. Ferguson will also be the GM for the AHL affiliate, the Tucson Roadrunners.
Ferguson spent the last seven years as the Boston Bruins' executive director of player personnel, as well as GM of the AHL's Providence Bruins. He also spent six seasons with the Sharks after four-plus years as the Maple Leafs' vice president and GM from 2003 to 2008.
"John is extremely knowledgeable about the game and with 20-plus years in the NHL, brings a tremendous amount of experience to our hockey operations department," Coyotes GM Bill Armstrong said in a statement. "We are thrilled to have him join our team and I am looking forward to working with him."
