The Arizona Coyotes have claimed center Freddie Hamilton off waivers from the Calgary Flames, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet. Hamilton played in eight games with the Flames this season, handing out one assist over a total of 61 minutes on the ice. The 26-year-old was originally selected by the San Jose Sharks in the fifth round (129th pick overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut during the 2013-14 campaign, skating in 11 contests with the Sharks and failing to register a goal or an assist while posting a minus-5 net rating across 114 minutes. The following season, Hamilton played in just one game with San Jose before being traded to the Colorado Avalanche, where he took the ice 18 times and scored the first goal of his career.
