Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday morning that Dez Bryant needs to do a better job of protecting the football. Later in the day, Bryant said his fourth-quarter fumble was more about the weather than his individual technique. “I think my ball security, in my honest opinion has been fine,” Bryant said. “It was just that kind of a game to where you have to be a little bit more prepared focusing on what kind of difficulties it will be in the cold weather handling the ball. You just got to prepare a little bit better knowing you will be in the game.” Bryant was targeted 16 times Sunday, the most he’s had since getting a career-high of 17 in Philadelphia on Oct. 20. Bryant caught nine of those in New Jersey, finishing with 86 yards. He noted that being moved around the field, which included some work in the slot, “helped out a lot.” But that’s about as far as Bryant wanted to go when it came to talking about himself.
