Colts running back Frank Gore became the fifth player in NFL history to surpass 14,000 career rushing yards in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game against the Houston Texans. Gore joined Emmitt Smith, Walter Payton, Barry Sanders and Curtis Martin in an elite group when he gained 2 yards on a carry early in the fourth quarter. Gore was injured on the play and remained down on one knee before walking off the Lucas Oil Stadium field to a loud ovation after his milestone was put on the video screen. He later returned to the game. The 34-year-old Gore continues to defy the odds when it comes to how productive older running backs can be in the NFL.
