Indianapolis Colts consultant Robert Mathis was formally charged Tuesday with one count of misdemeanor operating a vehicle while intoxicated. The Colts' career sacks leader was stopped early Oct. 24 after police spotted him traveling the wrong way on Windemere Boulevard in Carmel and observing him nearly striking a street sign. A police report said Mathis had consumed whiskey and taken a "sleeping aid." In field tests, Mathis had shaky balance and appeared confused, the report said.
