Pay the man already. Funny how only a year ago there was apprehension the Dodgers might not do right by Clayton Kershaw, or worse, might not have the financial means to take care of their Cy Young Award- winning left-hander. But when former owner Frank McCourt was shown the door by Major League Baseball and the Guggenheim Partners rolled up in a Brinks truck, it didn't take long to realize it was just a matter of time before Kershaw got paid like the ace he is. The question now isn't will the Dodgers re-sign Kershaw, but how much it's going to cost them. And after Monday's brilliant Opening Day performance against the San Francisco Giants, it's going to take a new calculator, another spreadsheet and a couple of stat experts from the set of "Moneyball" to figure it out. He's that valuable to the Dodgers. Or maybe you didn't catch Kershaw single-handedly take down the World Series champion San Francisco Giants on a bright blue Opening Day on Monday at Chavez Ravine.
