It didn’t take long for Florida cornerback C.J. Henderson to hear his name called at the 2020 NFL Draft. Henderson was taken with the No. 9 overall pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Thought of as one of the best defensive backs in the 2020 draft, Henderson was expected to go off the board early. He’ll come into the NFL with some high expectations as a first-round pick, but he has the talent to make an immediate impact as a rookie this fall.

Henderson came to Gainesville as a four-star prospect, and it took him no time to slot in as a key player on the Gators’ defense. As a true freshman in the 2017 season, Henderson racked up 22 total tackles and four interceptions. Henderson also recorded two interceptions in 2018 before opposing offenses decided to stop throwing his way. Although an ankle sprain forced Henderson to miss three games last season, he still defended a whopping 11 passes.
