Rookie C.J. Beathard will remain the San Francisco 49ers' quarterback for Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks, coach Kyle Shanahan announced Wednesday. It was thought the 49ers, coming off their bye week, might turn to Jimmy Garoppolo as the starter this week, but Shanahan said the former New England Patriots backup is still learning the offense. The 49ers sent a 2018 second-round draft pick to New England before the trade deadline to acquire Garoppolo.
