The Cincinnati Reds have traded right-handed pitcher Ashton Goudeau to the Colorado Rockies for cash considerations. It was just yesterday that the Reds designated the righty for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster for their new trade additions. What’s a bit perplexing is that it was also just yesterday in which the organization acquired right-handed reliever Mychal Givens in a trade with….. the Colorado Rockies. Now, less than 24 hours later, Goudeau is heading to the Rockies organization in a separate trade.

The Cincinnati Reds also made two other moves this morning. Ryan Hendrix was optioned to Triple-A Louisville, but he won’t be joining the Bats right now as he was placed onto the taxi squad with the Reds and will remain with them on their road trip for now.
