Chris Cooley isn’t retired yet. He also knows his phone won’t be ringing any time soon. “I’m just hanging out and waiting to see what’s going on,” he said. The longtime Redskins tight end also is an unrestricted free agent, but he’s coming off a season in which he first was cut and then returned as a backup for the final 10 games, including the postseason. He finished the season with one catch. He turns 31 in June and having missed substantial time to leg injuries two of the previous three years, he know his time in the NFL is nearing an end. But he’s not calling it quits. “I haven’t made that decision yet,” Cooley said. “But I haven’t given it too much thought. We’ll see what happens in the spring. There’s always that situation of staying in good shape and being a guy that’s around sometime halfway through the year. I’ve known a lot of guys that have done it.”
