After featuring one of the worst defenses in the NFL last year, new Kansas City Chiefs general manager Brett Veach is reportedly going to make some changes. According to Sam Mellinger of the Kansas City Star, these changes will be “significant” and will likely result in the release of a few very recognizable players. He’s already done some work on this front, cutting Darrelle Revis and bringing over Kendall Fuller in the Alex Smith trade that will go through once the new league year kicks in. It’s “almost certain” Tamba Hali will be cut, per Mellinger, which will save the Chiefs around $7.7 million in cap space. Another high-profile veteran who could be on his way out is linebacker Derrick Thomas.
