Daniel Sorensen has never been an elite safety by any means. But 2021 has been an especially rough season for the Chiefs defensive back, even by his low standards.

According to PFF, through five weeks Sorensen has allowed 16 receptions on 20 targets. He has 28 solo tackles, compared to 12 missed tackles, and he’s giving up a 152.1 passer rating and 17.8 yards per reception when targeted. Add it all up, and you have yourself a 35.0 rating, good enough for 82nd out of 84 qualified safties.
