As graduation nears, the class of 2021 is wrapping up a high school experience unlike one that any class before them has gone through. The graduating seniors had much of their travel and high school basketball experience limited, or canceled, due to global pandemic caused by Covid. They are also finishing up school as the Transfer Portal has taken off. The portal boom combined with the NCAA granting an extra year of eligibility to college players has limited many in the class of 2021’s ability to either land or improve their scholarship options.

Through all of that, seven-footer Chet Holmgren of Minneapolis (Minn.) Minnehaha was able to fight off strong challenges from Paolo Banchero of Seattle (Wash.) O’Dea and Jaden Hardy of Henderson (Nev.) Coronado to retain the No. 1 spot in the final 247Sports player rankings for the class of 2021.
