The Blues asked about Miranda's availability during the final phase of negotiations for the transfer of Atletico full back Filipe Luis this week. And the two clubs will speak again next week about Brazilian Miranda, who played a key role in the Madrid side's La Liga triumph last season. Miranda told Atletico he wanted to leave this summer but his club turned down an approach from Barcelona last month, while an expected bid by Manchester United never materialised. The 29-year-old is currently back in training with Atletico, but sources close to the player insist he would be interested in joining Chelsea. He could become the third player from his club to make the switch to west London this summer, following Luis and £32m striker Diego Costa.
