Chelsea face a battle with Inter Milan and Napoli if they want to bring Samuel Eto'o to Stamford Bridge. Cameroonian Eto'o currently plays for Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala and is said to be the world's highest paid player on an estimated £320000 per week. However Anzhi are now looking to dramatically lower the club's wage bill meaning stars like Eto'o and Brazilian playmaker Willian who is a target for Liverpool are now available. Although Chelsea have made signing Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney their top priority it seems increasingly likely that United will refuse to sell to their Premier League rivals which will force Jose Mourinho to look elsewhere to strengthen his strikeforce. Mourinho worked with Eto'o at Inter Milan and in their one season together the club won the the league cup and Champions League. Mourinho is said to be open to the idea of bringing in Eto'o if he cannot secure the signing of Rooney.
