Chelsea could be set to miss out one of their top targets this summer with Dries Mertens eyeing a stay in Serie A should his Napoli contract expire.

The Belgium international is reportedly a top target at Stamford Bridge but is also wanted by Inter and their former Blues boss Antonio Conte.

And according to Sky Sports Italia, the 33-year-old would prioritise a move to the San Siro to join Antonio Conte's side over a shot at the Premier League.

Mertens has spent seven seasons in Italy since arriving in an £8million move from PSV Eindhoven and has played 309 matches, scoring 121 times – making him the club's joint-highest marksman with Marek Hamsik.
