Chase Daniel is set to hit free agency later on Tuesday and the Kansas City Chiefs are interested in him, according to a report from Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports. "Very interested" is how it's put by La Canfora, who reports Daniel could sign a free agent contract over $3 million per year. Daniel is expected to be a "hot" free agent, given the weak quarterback market in free agency. Backup quarterback is one of those positions that's looked over in free agency but, as Chiefs fans have learned over the years, it is still an extremely important position, especially if your starter misses a game or two (or more). Daniel is an interesting option because there's so much unknown to him. He was highly productive at Missouri but since then he's backed up Drew Brees and started no games. It's not clear how he would fit in Andy Reid's offense but if the new Chiefs coach likes him, as it's being reported, then that should be a sign that the Chiefs think he's a fit.
