The Chicago Bears’ passing game might start to take shape after the team acquired wide receiver Chase Claypool from the Pittsburgh Steelers ahead of Tuesday’s 2022 NFL trade deadline.
Ahead of the trade deadline, the team sent their second-round pick in the 2023 draft to the Steelers for the third-year wideout. That now gives Justin Feld a big target to throw to for the rest of the season, barring any injuries.
Following being shipped out of Pittsburgh after the team drafted him out of Notre Dame in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the 24-year-old took to social media and thanked the franchise.
“I will always have an unbelievable amount of love for Steelers Nation and the organization that drafted me out of Notre Dame,” Claypool wrote. “I am beyond grateful for the amazing people in Pittsburgh for embracing me & the lifelong memories made. Now… Back to business in the Midwest.”
