The Boston Bruins have been told by Montreal police that defenseman Zdeno Chara would not be arrested or questioned regarding the investigation into his hit on Montreal Canadiens winger Max Pacioretty, while the team is in Canada, according to the Montreal Gazette. Chara checked Pacioretty into a stanchion along the boards in a March 8 game, leaving Pacioretty with a concussion and broken vertebra. Montreal police opened an investigation into the incident two days later. The NHL did not suspend Chara for the hit. Montreal police spokesman Ian Lafreniere also told the Montreal Gazette that the department is still investigating the hit.
