The Memphis Grizzlies had their home opener on Wednesday night against the New Orleans Pelicans, a game that saw them pick up the victory in front of their fans. But while the Grizzlies won as a team, forward Chandler Parsons received his lion’s share of boos. After the game, he was far from pleased with the reception: “It’s tasteless…I’ll treat home games like road games if that’s the way it’s going to be,“ Parsons said via Geoff Calkins of The Commercial Appeal. It was July 2016 when the Grizzlies inked Parsons to a four-year, $94.8 million max contract. He had scored better than 13 points per game for four consecutive seasons as a member of the Houston Rockets and Dallas Mavericks, but wound up playing just 34 games last season with the Grizzlies as he missed significant time with a bone bruise in his left knee.
